Project Superintendent
Summary:
To provide on-site coordination for all phases of WJR construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule, within a budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
Responsibilities Include:
- To provide leadership and establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships of all on-site staff
- Assist the Project Manager to ensure dates of completion are met
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors
- To plan and review quality control procedures, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, and manpower.
- Ensure that each subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work including safety compliance.
- Coordinate required inspections
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the Project Manager
- Perform Superintendent Duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously.
- Communicate with the Project Manager Architects Supplemental Information (ASI’s), Request for information (RFI’s) and Material Submittals.
- Maintain daily log
- Review and approve all time and material work vouchers and invoices.
- Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
- Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings and attend project meetings
- Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned.
- To report, review and approve all time worked by WJR labor staff on job sites (timesheets).
Requirements for this Position:
- Minimum of five years of experience in commercial interior work is preferred
- High School Diploma required; College or construction education desired
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Certifications: As required by OSHA and Department of Buildings (SST Worker Card}
- Must be proficient in reading construction plans and specifications
- Must be able to perform under pressure and multi-task
